− | =History=
| |
− |
| |
− | M was born in Savage City, in the country of New World in what is presently called the Shadow-world. Before she was one
| |
− |
| |
− | she nearly killed her biological parents with her telekinetic abilities, and before she was three her adoptive parents
| |
− |
| |
− | were considered insane and taken away. She did not want to harm anyone else, so she decided to become an orphan. Even
| |
− |
| |
− | after she learned to fully control her powers, she was a loner because of psychological problems she developed due to her
| |
− |
| |
− | lack of social contact and familial relationships.
| |
− |
| |
− | ==Reputation in Early Life==
| |
− |
| |
− | M was a loner on the streets and the subject of urban legends, and called "the Scorpion" because of rumors about how she
| |
− | reacted when provoked. She generally remained hidden and did not try to get power or attention, much like an actual
| |
− | scorpion that lives in burrows and hunts at night, trying to camoflague. The myths about her and the records of her family got the attention of the mayor Hans Savage, who recruited her to perform as the finale in the annual Savage City Freak Show and gave her a costume resembling her current costume. After her performance, she realized that the purpose of recruiting the Savage City Freaks was to use them as monsters to terrorize the people and kep them under control, she quit and used her powers to exit the locked building. She escaped but was tracked by Mayor Savage's right-hand superman Stahlman, who prowled like a cat and climbed like a gecko to keep track of her.
| |
− |
| |
− | ==The Battle of Savage City==
| |
− |
| |
− | M recruited other former Savage City Freaks including Reptileman, and Cupid the telepath. Reptileman became the leader of
| |
− |
| |
− | the Renegade Monsters due to his leadership skills, and M guided all the Monsters to the abandoned concrete fortress.
| |
− |
| |
− | Stahlman located them and their organized rebellion, and Savage sent a small militia to attempt to destroy them. The
| |
− |
| |
− | initial troops quickly lost, and the battle went on for days with multiple reinforcements until the fortress was bombarded
| |
− |
| |
− | with small nuclear weapons. M suspended all of these around the fort but eventually she was individually attacked and
| |
− |
| |
− | could no longer pay attention to stopping the bombs, and they all hit at once. The inside of the fortress was safe from
| |
− |
| |
− | the blast and fallout, but the entire city of formerly millions was almost entirely depopulated in an instant. The
| |
− |
| |
− | Monsters got inside a large tank and used their various abilities to keep it going without them being exposed to fallout
| |
− |
| |
− | until they could get far away to somewhere safe.
| |
− |
| |
− | ==Arrival in America==
| |
− |
| |
− | M was the last to leave the tank, and therefore drove blind. She exited somewhere in Illinois, and came from the Shadow-
| |
− |
| |
− | world to the known world somewhere along the journey. She met a recent Czech immigrant and giant beetle named Samsa
| |
− |
| |
− | (preportedly Grete Samsa) who helped her naivgate the United States. M was captured by the military and used in government
| |
− |
| |
− | projects studying human psionic capabilites, and was extradited due to failing to perform some of the tasks ("failing to
| |
− |
| |
− | obey orders").
| |
− |
| |
− | ==Deutschland==
| |
− |
| |
− | After her extradition, M was on the run looking for some place to go to. She already read the news in multiple countries
| |
− |
| |
− | and found out via Deutsch Welles that an angel had recently arrived in Berlin. She flew on a faux meteorite all the way to
| |
− |
| |
− | Germany and also claimed to be an angel, and was overshadowed by the earlier arrival. She had another identity as a random
| |
− |
| |
− | homeless German person "die Skorpionin" until she learned the language and the culture to the extent of a native and
| |
− |
| |
− | received enough welfare to become a normal German citizen and drop both former identities. She applied to work with the
| |
− |
| |
− | German government under contracts and eventually worked with the EU and the UN on their projects.
| |
− |
| |
− | =Religion & Philosophy=
| |
− |
| |
− | M was not raised in a religious family, but as she learned more about history, literature, philosophy and religion, she
| |
− |
| |
− | became spiritual in a non-organized-religion way vaguely tied to Christianity as well as Jewish and Pagan beliefs. Some
| |
− |
| |
− | describe her philosophy as existentialist, but a few describe it as nihilist.
| |
− |
| |
− | ==Politics==
| |
− |
| |
− | M claims to be a Socialist and seems to agree the most with Democratic Socialism, despite not being heavily involved in
| |
− |
| |
− | politics or the public sphere in general. She does not work for corporations and some other types of private organizations
| |
− |
| |
− | due to her firm political stance.
| |
− |
| |
− | ==Quotes==
| |
− |
| |
− | "God seems pretty apathetic to everything to me, but I'll try to get Him interested in something through my actions."
| |
− |
| |
− | "I follow my moral compass, but sometimes I have to take detours down the paths of vengance and schadenfreude. The
| |
− |
| |
− | straighter ways are often blocked."
| |
− |
| |
− | "It seems like nowadays prophets are so scarce, that anyone who will even do the job part-time are being searched for by
| |
− |
| |
− | the Universe in the hundreds and possibly thousands. Samsa and I agree that Kafka is definitely a prophet, because we've
| |
− |
| |
− | seen Kafka-demons but we've never been able to win."
| |
− |
| |
− | "I admire Tesseract's advocacy for the rights of us 'Others' such as metahumans and sapient social creatures, but
| |
− |
| |
− | personally I don't need her help. I'm not interested in being part of humanity, although I am forced into the human
| |
− |
| |
− | condition."
| |
− |
| |
− | "I don't understand why people think Satan or any demons can be the enemy of an omnipotent God. Not only is he clearly
| |
− |
| |
− | letting them run around, when it says so in Job that God personally works with the Devil and lets him kill and torment
| |
− |
| |
− | individuals."
| |
− |
| |
− | =Abilities=
| |
− |
| |
− | M's telekinetic abilities are strong and extremely developed, and she has no other superhuman abilties, making her very
| |
− |
| |
− | wanted for scientific research and for both government and private operations. Research is frequently done on the extent
| |
− |
| |
− | and origins of her abilities for an understanding of the Universe and potential technological uses of the results.
| |
− |
| |
− | ==Known Limits==
| |
− |
| |
− | M can create an extremely powerful and almost impenetrable shield of mental force, despite her physiological weakness and
| |
− |
| |
− | frailty. She can shape her mental force as well as manipulate of 5 tons as of current measurements, and can be accurate
| |
− |
| |
− | down to 1 mm +- .5 mm with focus, which far exceeds standard human physiological capabilities as well as being more remote
| |
− |
| |
− | than human muscular force manipulation. She does expend energy and use focus in using her abilities, which are reportedly
| |
− |
| |
− | precieved as "no different from normal human capabilities" but research in Project Poltergeist fails to show any area of
| |
− |
| |
− | the brain that is persistently activated during telekinetic movement and no other activities. Project Poltergeist has
| |
− |
| |
− | identified that there is an area of her brain that is always activated in remembering and thinking about telekinetic
| |
− |
| |
− | actions that is almost identical to the corresponding areas for voluntary muscular movements in ordinary humans, but
| |
− |
| |
− | stimulation to this area does not induce any measurable telekinetic movements.
