After the death of Red Wonder, she sent feelers out to numerous fringe heroes, mercenaries, and vigilantes who had been maligned by UNTIL, and organized them to topple the global super police organization. In 2020 she succeeds in toppling UNTIL and quickly asserts her own regime of super protection. Before long, this devolves into a police state. When the most powerful nations rise up to topple this regime, Lady Justice is forced to put them down, neutralizing their meta human champions and decimating their armed forces. Now de facto ruler of the world, Lady Justice becomes a recluse, and leaves the administration of global affairs to her lieutenants, while she makes use of the vast world resources at her disposal. The Dystopia is related to an RP story arc of the Adventurers starting summer of 2014. Based upon the suggestions of Adventurers members, an alternate future has been developed. The slaying of Blue Wonder leads to an unfavorable future timeline that the Adventurers members (and some of the team's RP allies) will have a chance to play in, and rectify this horrid turn of events.
A shortened link for this page is: http://ow.ly/A2Sc9
The Timeline
2014
- Blue Wonder is slain in battle with Bedlam
- Red Spider unmasks herself publicly; she takes on the code name Red Wonder in honor of her fallen team mate
2015
- A member of the Syndicate is found to have been brutally killed - Lady Justice is suspected of murder, but she cannot be located
- Under civil liberties pressure, UNTIL begins to crack down on the Adventurers, delivering an ultimatum to all register, or desist from all vigilante activities
- Fox retires from costumed heroics to avoid UNTIL’s backlash at Red Wonder's urging
- Jason Leander retires his costume and continues his work for UNTIL, but refuses to turn on his former Adventurer comrades
- Mark of Power, Juggernette, Night Spider, and others continue to quietly operate solo
- Red Wonder carries on solo and partners with Night Spider occasionally
2016
- Fox marries early in the year. He and his wife welcome their firstborn child before year’s end
2017
- Red Wonder retires from costumed heroics when her boyfriend is killed in reprisal by one of her enemies; she begins traveling abroad anonymously
2018
- An UNTIL technician named Kenneth Sims discovers classified documents suggesting that UNTIL could have acted to save Red Wonder’s boyfriend or give her advance warning, but due to red tape, did not act.
- This leads to Sims reading more and more classified material to which he has access
- Sims becomes more and more disenchanted with UNTIL as he learns about some of its undisclosed mistakes, but does not let this on to his co-workers
2019
- Sims makes a massive dump of files to a free information website supposedly interested in exposing the organization’s supposed misdeeds and jurisdictional oversteps
- The information website is actually run by a super criminal, who extracts from the info dump intelligence about known secret identities and sends that information on to other villains and criminals around the world first
- Day of 1,000 Tears: numerous heroes, active or retired, and/or their families are killed as a result of their identities becoming very suddenly leaked to criminal organizations around the world
- The rest of the leaked UNTIL information is disclosed to the global press to embarrass UNTIL and keep them busy
- Fox narrowly survives a targeted killing, but his entire family is slain.
- Gangsters use leaked UNTIL information to locate Red Wonder's parents and kill them
- Days later Red Wonder re-emerges from obscurity to lead dozens of heroes and their supporters to rally out front of the UNTIL building to decry the agency’s poor safeguards and some of the other dubious acts the info dump revealed
- An assassin from the Chairman assassinates Red Wonder moments after she gives a rousing speech at the rally
- Night Spider is gifted much of Cassandra Olsen’s estate, including all of her equipment, her home, and her wealth
- Lady Justice re-emerges with a pledge to enforce a more just society in the name of Blue Wonder and Red Wonder. She gains other allies among those disenchanted with UNTIL and leads an underground strike force determined to undermine UNTIL
- Lady Justice's secret identity has managed to become a majority shareholder in ARGENT, and she applies its economic leverage
- Fox neutralizes the security detail watching Kenneth Sims, and brutally murders the so-called whistle blower; Sims's body is later discovered in a dumpster, but police have no clear suspect
- Fox joins Lady Justice; she enhances him with cybernetic parts
- The forces of Tyrannon The Conqueror begin to encroach on the Imaginary Realms. In response The Watchmaster, and several detatchments of the Babylonian Watch deploy to slow the advance. With no Archmage present to cast the Quaternion Banishment, this will be a long and bloody conflict.
2020
- Operation: Zero Hour: In the New Year, Lady Justice & Fox succeed at stealing into UNTIL HQ and taking possession of it with their cadre of meta human allies
- Every effort is made to make this take-over bloodless
- Much of UNTIL’s infrastructure is destroyed or comes under the control of Lady Justice
- Jason Leander and his UNTIL team get wind of the attack and go off the grid
- Within a week of Lady Justice’s taking control she publicly pledges a new super-policing regime that she herself will oversee, and ensure that no one need ever again suffer as she has. She begins a goodwill campaign to ease the world’s fears
- An emergency UN summit is held to debate an appropriate response -- a resolution that Lady Justice must surrender the entire UNTIL infrastructure, or face military reprisal receives unanimous support
- Lady Justice appears before the UN General Assembly in her 'Avenger' armor and mocks the delegates for UNTIL's allowing costumed heroes to be persecuted, for allowing them to be fundamentally betrayed by the agency's apparently lax internal security, and for propping up a corrupt social order that allowed for so many to be harmed
- At first welcomed by many, by mid-year, it becomes clear that Lady Justice’s army of UNTIL-built robots and super-powered lieutenants are enforcing a new dominion over the free world, enacting harsh (often lethal) penalties upon offenders without due process. Normal people begin to realize that they are under constant surveillance.
- Lady Justice begins to become a recluse, very rarely seen publicly, rumored to be focused on her R&D now that she has virtually limitless resources
- Fox is rewarded by Lady Justice for good service with an upgrade to his cybernetics
- In response to UNTIL's downfall VIPER drastically steps up it's activities. This leaves the organization's resources drastically overstretched.
- This proves to be fortunate for Lady Justice's forces as they are able to conquer a Nest before it's Serpentine Node is able to be destroyed. It is only a matter of months before the security is cracked and VIPER's own infrastructure is drawn taken over by Lady Justice.

The Adventurers
Blue Wonder
Blue Wonder was killed in 2014 after a team battle with Bedlam. Her untimely death sets off a chain of unfortunate events.
Fox
Fox tries to quit the Adventurers and leave his former life as an assassin behind. He gets a few years of joy raising a young family, before the Day of a Thousand Tears sees them slain. Heartbroken, he resumes his old ways. First he targets for death those he holds directly responsible for his family's death. Later, he joins Lady Justice in her campaign to topple UNTIL and replace them with a global policing regime of her own design, free of what she sees as its design flaws. In the new world order they establish, Fox is a top lieutenant and begins tracking down & eliminating those who pose a threat to Lady Justice.
Daydream
Karcsi AKA Daydream is already a registered hero, and has no problem working solo in 2015. When Kenneth Sims's info dump lands in the hands of organized crime before it goes public, Karcsi reads the mind of a contract killer sent after her and learns the truth. She works tirelessly to save as many lives as she can on the Day of 1,000 Tears. Once Lady Justice replaces UNTIL with her own super policing regime, Daydream and some cohorts establish a refuge deep in the Himalayas and do their best to rescue meta humans and great minds of humanity to live in safety there.
Guidelight
Remains alive in this bleak future.
Illusion
Is captured by Lady Justice in 2022. Remains imprisoned.
Jason Leander
Continues working for UNTIL after the Adventurers fold in 2015. He gets wind of the global crackdown on UNTIL led by Lady Justice and her allies, and he goes dark, surviving the purge along with some other UNTIL field agents. By 2034, he is a hard-bitten survivalist who, along with his former UNTIL cohorts, helps out the Adventurers.
Juggernette
Remains a member of the reformed Adventurers after 2021. She has had to replace several parts of her body with cyberntics thanks to brutal fights with Fox over the years. Juggernette rapidly improves and creates new power suits during this time, leading some to speculate as to where she got so many different designs in the short periods of time between each new upgrade.
Lady Justice
Exacted 'justice' upon those who have harmed her friends. Became a recluse for some time. By 2034, she is seeking the means to create a time machine so that she can anticipate the movements of the last pockets of resistance.
Mark of Power (AKA Crimson Force)
After the disbanding of the Adventurers in 2015, and the vanishing of Lady Justice, Mark of Power works solo. Some of his family are killed in the Day of 1,000 Tears. He is present at the rally when Red Wonder is assassinated days later. After Lady Justice re-emerges and manages to take UNTIL by storm, Mark reforms the Adventurers with as many of his former team mates as he can find. Mark changes his name to Crimson Force and becomes the face of the resistance, being as his telekinetic powers have made him one of the most powerful meta-humans remaining free in the world. For years, he strives to make contact with other resistance cells, and make symbolic and strategic attacks against Lady Justice's world-wide security regime.
Night Spider
Night Spider continued to work in partnership with Red Wonder. Spider became inheritor to Red Wonder's estate after the latter was assassinated in 2019. She joined the reformed Adventurers in 2021 in resistance to Lady Justice. As an Adventurer and resistance agent, she was adept at infiltration and sabotage. By 2034 she is one of the last remaining free heroes on Earth. She gifts some of Red Wonder's equipment to Jesse Weaver, the new Red Spider, ensuring that a new generation of heroes is ready to carry on the fight.
Red Wonder
After unmasking herself publicly in the wake of Blue Wonder's slaying, Red Spider changed her name and costume to become the Red Wonder, in honor of her friend. Red Wonder's loved ones do pay a price for her identity being public, and in 2017 she retires from superheroics after her then-boyfriend is murdered. Years later when a whistle-blower dumps UNTIL files and it becomes clear UNTIL could have acted to save her boyfriend, Red Wonder returns from obscurity and leads a rally to demand UNTIL be held to account -- an event at which she is assassinated by an old enemy.
Red Spider
By 2034, a new hero calling herself 'Red Spider' joins Mark of Power's Adventurers. She is a martial arts expert liberated from a prison by the Adventurers, who jumps at the chance to resist Lady Justice. She receives some of the previous Red Spider's gear as a gift to assist her.
Talons
Works solo after the disbanding of the Adventurers in 2015. He joins the reformed lineup in 2021, in resistance to Lady Justice. He is later imprisoned as a dissident.
Watchmaster
As is required by his office, the Watchmaster is fighting at the forefront of the Tyrannon Incursion. News of the situation on Earth is infreaquent at best. As such the Watchmaster is largely unaware of recent events.
