− | Growing up on the rough streets of Westside, Reilly Overbeck learned to fend for herself against the violence and degeneracy that plagued the neighborhood. Using her uncanny ability to harness and control fire, Reilly came to be known as the wayward arsonist "Wildfire". Making a living as hired muscle for the various gangs plaguing the streets, Wildfire quickly gained infamy amongst the people of Westside, even catching the attention of low-level superheroes and several mysterious organizations around the city...

− | | + | |
− | One such organization, the satanic cult known as DEMON, was particularly fascinated with Wildfire and her abilities. After observing Reilly for a time, members of the cult approached her under the guise of businessmen looking for mercenaries. In reality, the twisted cult sought to use her for a dangerous ritual. Revealing to her that she was, in fact, a powerful reincarnated demon, the cultists planned to release the otherworldly entity within and unleash it upon the city.

− | | + | |
− | Though DEMON's plans were foiled in the end by the legendary Champions, Reilly was changed by the experience. Now aware of her demonic origins, she became scared of her powers, and vowed never to use them again...

− | Of course, in a dangerous city of superheroes and villains, Reilly eventually had no choice but to call on them once more. The rise of the dangerous villain "Master Midnight" and his weapon, the Eclipse, prompted action from the various gifted individuals of the city; and although she was far from being a crime fighting hero, Reilly felt she owed it to the Champions for saving her in her darkest hour. Leading the charge against Midnight and his Eclipse, Wildfire and the defenders of Millennium successfully defeated the madman, restoring peace and order to the city.

− | | + | |
− | Honored as a hero for her bravery, Wildfire eventually abandoned her criminal life on the streets and became a full-fledged costumed crimefighter under the guidance of the Champions.

− | == Powers & Abilities ==
| + | |
− | | + | |
− | Primarily, Wildfire has the ability to harness and control fire, an ability she inherited from her past life as a demon. In particularly difficult situations, she has been known to wield a magically-enhanced battle axe, able to cut through almost anything. Under enough stress, Wildfire can temporarily call upon further demonic abilities, though she risks losing control and unleashing the sleeping devil within.

− | == Personality ==
| + | Millennium City isn't quite sure what to make of Riley "Wildfire" Jay. Though she has taken on heroic roles during crisis such as the Qularr Invasion, and Mechanon's Steel Crusade, many still see her as an uncontrollable force of nature. |
| | | |
− | In her younger years, Reilly was known to be somewhat of a hothead. Quick to anger and eager to fight, Reilly was an intimidating individual. In recent years, however, she's mellowed out quite a bit, preferring to play it cool and remaining relaxed in tense situations. Socially, Reilly isn't much of a talker, believing actions speak louder than words.
| + | She's been on both sides of the law throughout her career, and although one could argue her more questionable acts are "necessary evils", she is nonetheless considered a menace by the MCPD and various media groups around town. |
| | | |
− | == Rogues Gallery ==
| + | Born with an inherent control over fire, (passed down by her father, a victim of the infamous "Project Sunburst".) Riley is as fiesty and unpredictable as the flames she shoots from her hands. But, even though she may rub people the wrong way, in the end, she always tries to do good by them. |
| | | |
− | Master Midnight: Though his initial attack on the city was thwarted by Wildfire and the heroes of Millennium, the tenacious madman continues to plague the city with his twisted machinations. Able to transfer his consciousness between robotic bodies, Midnight has cheated death numerous times, and each new form he inhabits is stronger than the last. Although he has an army of robots to back him up, Master Midnight prefers to be direct, in the thick of the fight. He never takes his opponents seriously, viewing each battle as a field test for his latest enhancements, but Wildfire has earned his animosity for her constant interference in his plans.
| + | Wildfire's courage in standing up to villainy and oppression has earned her the respect of the superhero community. As such, she is reluctantly considered an ally to the people of Millennium City. |
| | | |
− | Princess Punish: Once a member of the Maniacs gang in Westside, Princess Punish was kicked out by Zoe Loft for being "too crazy". The vicious, near-feral psychopath steps out of the shadows once and awhile to quench her bloodthirst, but is sent packing every time by Wildfire. One day, she hopes to capture her fiery nemesis and torture her in many unspeakable ways...
| + | == About == |
| | | |
− | Incandescent: A villainous version of Wildfire from another dimension, the sultry enforcer to a once great emperor has made her way into Millennium City after the fall of her world at the hands of man-eating Earth-monsters. Unlike Wildfire, who was encouraged to abandon her criminal ways and become a hero, Incandescent was groomed to terrorise the enemies of the emperor and embrace her demonic origins. Conniving, sadistic and manipulative, Incandescent poses a serious threat to Millennium City, and Wildfire has seen fit to intercept and foil the evil attempts of her lesser half.
| + | Somewhat of a "loose cannon", Riley Jay has found herself on both sides of the law at some point in her life. Born with the ability to expel radioactive energy in the form of intense heat, Riley has only recently begun to use her powers for more than personal gain. Despite having a less-than-stellar reputation with the people of Millennium City, she's started to gain a deal of respect among the superhero community for being there when it counts. Even the famous hero, Defender, has begun to see potential in the wayward firebrand. |
