- Atlantean Physiology: Being born an Atlantean, Linyssa is biologically adapted to the deep ocean environment. Her body is adapted to withstand crushing pressure, thanks to living deep beneath the surface of the ocean. Her natural temperature is higher than a human's, in order to both counteract the freezing deep ocean water, and to allow her to give her muscles more heat to facilitate her heightened swimming speeds. She also possesses superhuman levels of strength, speed, endurance and durability, all by-products of her body being adapted to survive unprotected in the tremendous pressures of the ocean depths.
- Amphibious Nature: Fathom, as an Atlantean, can breathe both water and air, but must return to the aquatic environment at various intervals; this length can be prolonged by the humidity in the atmosphere.
