Magdalena Kessler was born in 1935 in Ansbach, a town in Germany. She is the daughter of Hildegard "Blutsmaragd" Kessler, a witch from Germany, and Franklin "The Great Marzetti" Marselle, an occult master thief from the United States; both arcanists of considerable talent.
In 1938, when the Nazis attempted the mystic ritual that - inadvertently - unlocked the ambient magic powers on earth, they forced Hildegard Kessler's participation by holding her daugher hostage.
Afterwards, Magdalena's mother time and again attempted to covertly sabotage the german war-effort from within and tried several times to escape with her daugher; which would only prove successful admidst the chaos at the end of the war in europe.
In the aftermath, Hildegard elected to maintain a low profile and keep herself and her daugher out of the affairs of both the mystic and meta-human world, trying to live a peaceful life in post-war europe.
In the late 1950s however, Magdalena felt that only just keeping her feet still was not a life she wanted. Now a young woman and talented witch herself, who inherited her parents' talents, she went to emulate her father's exploits from the 20s and 30s. Franklin Marselle had indeed been master thief, who used his sorcery for many sophisticated heists.
Her career as an arcane thief went on for a while, until she tried to steal an occult artifact from an obscure collector in 1960.
In the altercation that followed between the owner, another interested party and Magdalena Kessler, the artifact was destroyed and unleashed a shock wave of magical energy. Those who were caught in the blast were presumed dead, however, the truth was far from it.
For decades Magdalena was left adrift in a part of the astral world called the Dreamzone. While effectively in a state of stasis, she came into contact and visited many dreams, imaginations and nightmares, with time having difficulties with distinguishing what are her own memories and what are dreams.
In 2013, a demonhame attempted to summon a mighty infernal and inadvertently ended up pulling Magdalena along with it back into the physical world.
Said demonhame ceased all activity that day.
