Lagenya, The Frozen Ocean and the Lagenyan

Scarny's homeplanet, Lagenya, has a surface consisting of 97% water. There is only a slim ring of islands stretching around the equator of the planet. Most of the ocean is frozen, which has caused most of the aquatic life to live near the bottom, where volcanic activity manages to keep it at a temperature, which they have much easier thriving in. The dominant species are the Lagenyan, who are humanoid creatures, that evolved directly from the planet's fish, very similar to the Lemurians. Infact, they share quite a few features with the Lemurians. Those are features such as, their blue skin, gills (although the Lagenyan can also breathe on land), et cetera. The Lagenyan have cities both on the islands, aswell as on the bottom of the ocean. In despite of their mostly aquatic world, they are quite adept in space-travelling, aswell. One of the Lagenyan's biggest natural enemies, are the large predatory creatures, that roam the deep seas of their world. There are everything from large octopus-like beings, to underwater serpent-like monstrosities. This has forced the Lagenyan to protect their cities with domes, once again, similar to the Lemurians (although the Lagenyan use forcefields instead of glass and metal). The islands are mostly used by either the rich families, warehouses, government buildings, old people and space-craft airports, as there are no large predators on land, that can destroy them. Around 98% of all Lagenyan live in their ocean cities, however.

As the species have gotten more and more advanced, they have had fewer and fewer problems with their natural enemies, however ever since they began travelling the space-region around them, they have made enemies with a reptilian species known as the 'Kataarsh'. Around 1979, Earth-time, Lagenya was invaded by the Kataarsh, due to numerous political and ethical disagreements. It is unknown how long the invasion lasted, as well as who came out victorious, as the only Lagenyan in the Milky Way, Scarny Lantera, escaped the planet just before the invasion started (Will be described in more detail later on).

There is only currently on Lagenyan in the entire Milky Way, and that would be, as you probably know by now, Scarny Lantera. Therefore, there is a severe lack of detail on the species, their society and their home-planet. The planet is, however, believed to be located somewhere in the Andromeda galaxy, although it's exact coordinates are unknown. There has never been established any contact between Earth and the Lagenyan government, however Scarny Lantera is acting as a sort of unofficial ambassador for the planet.

The Man, The Legend, The Fish, T-.. Scarny Lantera.

Scarny was born around 91 years ago, on the previously mentioned planetary state of Lagenya. He was born in one of the major underwater cities, named Targen Thos. He was raised as a lone child, by his mother (The Lagenyan females instinctively devour the males after mating). Like most of the children from his species, he was f*%#ing terrified of his mother. As a teenager, he began surrounding himself with some shady groups. Eventually he got the offer to become a Gartena, a space-smuggler. They promised him, that he would get to travel the quadrant, get a fantastic pay and he would receive protection from the rest of the group, provided he carried out all his jobs, otherwise he would get his throat slit and fed to the Giganturanhas (Large piranha-like fish). He gracefully accepted their offer, and became a Gartena!

He quickly showed, that he was a natural talent at his art. He could smuggle anything from seasoning, to weapons, to robots, to rare animals and so on, without getting caught by the Quadrant Regulators (space-police). After years of hard work, he could finally afford a shack on the islands! This is what any young Lagenyan desires to have, as it means that the possibility of being devoured by large carnivorous beasts is significantly lower, than it would've been, before they move up there. Life was looking good for Scarny. "Nothing can go wrong now!" he thought. And, uh. That probably wasn't too wise, for he totally jinxed it. You see, life on the surface wasn't all fun and games. Sure, there weren't any big predators, but there were significantly more natural disasters, like volcano-eruptions, earth-quakes and the like. One awful day, a tsunami hit, while Scarny was smuggling weapons to buyers in the other side of the quadrant. He came back, to realize that his shack, along with all his possessions had been completely ruined.

That unfortunate event led Scarny to travel back into the city, that he was born in, Targen Thos. But the worst part was yet to happen, for he had to temporarily reside with his biggest fear. His mother. She was now an old, bald, sharp-toothed and incredibly muscular (Most of these traits are very common for the female Lagenyan, although Scarny's mother was especially fierce), lady. Didn't exactly help his reputation as a bad-a$$ space-smuggler, but he got along. Sorta. Eventually his mother was tired of having him around, so she did, what any sane mother would - she tried to bite his face off. Scarny just barely managed to jump out the way. What, on Earth, would be a cute game, that you'd play with your baby, had become a grim reality for Scarny."I've got your nossssse!", she hissed. Scarny, now infuriated by his newly found lack of smelling-device, did something, that would quite possibly change his life forever. He pushed his mother out of their window, using a strong gust of wind. This ability was special, even for a Lagenyan. Infact, not even Scarny knew he had this power, it just sorta happened. He put a bandage on his face, to stop the bleeding from his face, then fled, in fear of being arrested by the local authorities. Little to his knowledge, no investigation was ever held for the murder, as his mother was viewed as the neighborhood-bully, hated by everyone. So, uh, they just shrugged it off as a suicide, as she had no friends, and was a miserable miscreant.
