| − | Tad Polewski was born and raised in an upper middle class household, within the heart of upper Millennium City. Knowing nothing of the dangers that lurk outside, he grew up spending his time idolizing heroes and visiting the renaissance center to get a sneak peak of them at work. He also spent a lot of time being homeschooled by his stay-at-home mother, which blissfully unaware that she was a mutant with telepathic abilities. His father, however, was normal and owned his own successful law firm in the heart of Millennium City.

| − | At the age of 13, Tad desired to meet new people and make friends. He petitioned to his parents to be enrolled into a public school, to which his father agreed. Seeming like a dream come true, he was quickly enrolled into West Side middle school, and he would be able to walk to school by himself. On his first day, however, he encountered Maniacs and was subsequently mugged on the way. In class he was targeted by bullies for being outspoken, and slightly ahead in knowledge. He even drew the ire of the popular girl in class, Danielle, by showing no interest in girls and attempting to upstage her in test scores. Then it came, the day she was beat on a quiz.

| − | Furious, Danielle decided enough was enough. Using her influence, a crowd gathered after school and encircled Tad. He beckoned for reason with the group of boys, but to no avail. They cared more about having her attention. While getting assaulted, his desire to defend himself grew and grew until it happened. An ego blast shot forward and knocked down one of the boys. Scared, they all fled the scene and Tad went home. He was pulled out of public school, and to help better control his abilities, his parents eyed Ravenswood Academy.
