The Adeptus Fraternitas are a reclusive order of space faring protectors, who follow a code of ethics much like the oath of knights and warrior monks, who use the control of Ether* and elements for altruistic purposes, and believe in freedom to all sentient beings.

1: Meditate and fast for 40 days, at a holy place (preferably a Locus) and manifest a Foci, from the ambient Ether at the location. (Being able to produce this wondrous ethereal gem is evident that the disciple in question has the means and control over the Ether to yield a real physical concentration of Ether to begin their Lumen)

2: Construct a personal Lumen (Blade) without any teaching, or education in the mechanics of such a device. It is tradition, that the disciple will have the means to create this device revealed to them in meditation and life encounters when they are ready to wield such a weapon.

3: Challenge a recognized Master of Ether, in a duel of skill and will. Many duels have very different outcomes and means of testing the student, the most common are; Trying to disarm the Disciple of their Lumen, or cause them to become emotionally unstable (angry, shamed, or frustrated) during the duel. If the Disciple manages to pass the test they are recognized as a Protector, and earn the Title Adept.

*(Ether: A mystical force that permeates creation, it ebbs and flows around all things, and is considered the fabric that unifies the elements. Manipulation of the elements can be utilized with proficiency in the tapping of ether.)
*(The Lure: The allure, the calling to use the power of ether for personal gain, to oppress those who do not have it, and to seek ever more, and more impressive and dangerous control and mastery over the ether.)

These heroic figures bear the familiar weapons known as Lumen:
*(Lumen: A device created from the focused manifestation of ether into a raw physical form; (produced by the disciple, during their right of passage, through intensive meditation and focus, in a Locus.)(NOTE: the blade is not capable of cleaving questionite, but it does damage it!)
*(Locus: a place flowing strongly in the Ether, many fights have been broken out over control of these precious locations) the Device focuses a continuous plasma charge through the semisolid ether Foci, to yield an incredible blade of energy.)
